Last night on Mykonos

After our adventures in Delos today, we felt that we had covered every street and alleyway in the town of Mykonos. We ended up spending the rest of the afternoon and evening relaxing at the hotel. We spent some quality time at the hotel pool bar, which was pretty much empty since it was a little chilly. This picture that I took with my phone makes it appear warm, but I can assure you it was not.

The bartender was probably bored and just happy to have a couple customers, and he fixed us all a b-52 shot. Here you see a "wild" Susan very gradually sipping back aforementioned shot. 1 hour later she was passed out face down. But as they say . . . what happens in Mykonos, stays in Mykonos unless it gets posted on a blog and ruins the subject's aspirations for being elected to public office.

While certain members of the Herscher clan were passed out, I stepped out to watch the sunset. I stepped in to the water for a bit and found that it wasn't all that cold - not anywhere as cold as Los Angeles. This gave me hope. The forecast for Thira/Santorini for the next few days is in the high 70s. Perhaps I will be able to jump in for a dip after all.
All this excitement brought us all back to the hotel pool bar, but this time I focused on doing some time lapse of the stars. Ideally I would have had something in the foreground like a church, but everything was lit up too well for it to work out. In any event, I think it's a fun little video to watch. It's my first time lapse of stars. Exciting stuff. We leave Mykonos tomorrow at 2. We have yet to determine what we are doing in the morning. I look forward to breakfast.
